Fam Trip: Cobble Beach

Cobble Beach during peak season is something every golfer needs to experience.

Three hours from Toronto and worth every minute of the drive. The kind of trip where the city fades in the rearview and the day opens up in front of you.

Then you step onto the first tee, and it all makes sense. Greens that run like glass, rolling true from the opening hole to the last putt. Fairways in the kind of shape you only get when a team really cares. Georgian Bay in every backdrop, so even the bad swings come with a good view. And blue skies that stuck around all day.

This is the round you'll be talking about all winter. Big thanks to the Cobble Beach team for having us out and taking care of us from start to finish. This is what a top-tier golf resort looks like. If you haven't made the trip yet, put it on the list. If you have, you already know.

Home base for our fam trip. One of five cottages tucked just north of the Clubhouse, with Georgian Bay stretched out right outside the window. Two bedrooms, a fireplace, a stocked wet bar — this is where the round ended, and the stories started. https://www.cobblebeach.com/Stay/Accommodations

Fuel for the round. Breakfast at Sweetwater Restaurant in the Clubhouse — eggs benny, a classic plate, or something off the griddle before heading to the first tee. Five-star kitchen, small-town morning, big day ahead. https://www.cobblebeach.com/Dine

No shortcuts before a round like this. A range and putting green built to match the course — dial in your swing, find your speed on the greens, then go test it for real. Preparation looks good here.

Recovery mode. Sauna, steam room, hot tub, and a plunge pool overlooking the water, providing everything you need to reset after 18 holes. https://www.cobblebeach.com/Stay/Things_To_Do

Arrive by land or by water. The Georgian Bay Day Dock lets boaters tie up for the day and get shuttled straight to the Clubhouse. Golf, tennis, or dinner at Sweetwater, all just steps from the water. Another way this place does things right.

The last stop. A post-round massage at The Spa—hot stones, lymphatic drainage, and relaxation techniques designed to ease sore muscles and reduce inflammation after 18 holes.
