Fam Trip: Duntroon Highlands
Our first Fam Trip of the season to Duntroon Highlands Golf Resort was everything we believe golf should be.
This trip was never just about playing a round. It was about stepping away from the routine, immersing ourselves in a new environment, and creating the kind of moments that remind us why we built The Loop in the first place—community, culture, competition, and connection.
From the moment we arrived at The Highland House, the tone was set. The modern chalet gave us a home base unlike anything we’ve experienced—premium accommodations, sweeping views of South Georgian Bay, and direct golf cart access to the course. It created the perfect balance of comfort, luxury, and convenience, making it easy to settle in and fully embrace the experience.
Before the first tee shot, we tapped into Duntroon’s brand-new pickleball courts for a sunset session. It was the perfect warm-up. Golf and pickleball might seem different on paper, but they share the same DNA: touch, precision, strategy, and composure. Competitive energy came out quickly, and the courts brought a different kind of fire to the trip.
Night one brought everyone together around the table for a private chef experience with Chef Terry of One More Catering. Great food always changes the dynamic of a trip, and this dinner did exactly that. Conversations got deeper, stories got louder, and the group chemistry really started to build. Those moments off the course matter just as much as the ones on it.
Then came the golf.
Duntroon’s practice facility alone deserves recognition. Their 12-acre training ground is one of the most impressive in Ontario, featuring the massive Mega Bunker, a world-class short-game area, and Ontario’s highest driving range. Surrounded by forests, fresh air, and panoramic Bay views, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay and grind for hours. Equal parts peaceful and inspiring.
And once the rounds were done, the experience didn’t stop.
The clubhouse café delivered exactly what a proper 19th Hole should—locally inspired food, rotating specials, and one of the best patio views you’ll find anywhere. Looking out over the fairways and surrounding forest, it became the perfect setting to decompress, relive shots, talk trash, and share the stories that always seem to get better after the round.
That’s what made this trip special.
Duntroon Highlands Golf Resort didn’t just provide a golf destination—they delivered a full experience. Every detail felt intentional. The golf challenged us. The amenities elevated the stay. The hospitality made it memorable.
